We’re publishing records released by governments across Canada as part of the 2015 Newspapers Canada freedom of information audit.
The City of Calgary released in full copies of correspondence between the mayor and the province in 2014 on provincial funding for municipal programs. From flood and blizzard relief to funding for police officers, the records provide a glimpse at the complex relationship between a large municipality and its provincial overseers.
Calgary got an A for speed and a B for completeness of disclosure in the audit; you can see the whole report here. The audit is a tool to compare performance between jurisdictions, and may not reflect a government’s overall record responding to all requests.
The correspondence is in the viewer below. Please credit the 2015 Newspapers Canada FOI audit for any reuse.
